Right, I got that. I'm asking why it calls for a month of recognition. Most holidays are just that; a day. I want to know: Why do you observe it for a time period of one month? The belief is that our Holy Book the Qur'an was sent down to us during this month. So thats why we do it for the whole month. The first revelations were in Ramadan, though they kept on coming afterwards. I don't think it's observed because of the revelation or based on any occurrence, Ramadan is just considered a holy month, though I may be wrong. And Ramadan Mubarak.
