kingfish
Link 1. Cleveland Cavaliers, 2008-09 I sort of like this also-ran, because it speaks to how we've grown as a sport-regarding culture over the years. These Cleveland Cavaliers ran up 66 wins, an almost Bulls-like 8.9-point differential (way better than any team listed above), and had the greatest player in the game (LeBron James(notes)) at their disposal. And yet, when the team lost to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference finals last spring, people seemed ready to smartly admit that the Cavs, for all their horses, just didn't have the horses to run with the Magic Apparently last years Cavs are better then the 03 Lakers, 99 Blazers, 02 Kings, 03 Spurs, and so on. Enjoy....
Sun Tzu
The Cavs were that good?
Diesel
List is pretty bad. Some notes -No Flip Saunders led Pistons team should be anywhere near that list The top 5 on the list looks pretty solid(other than the Cavs at number one). The Spurs, Kings, Blazers, Mavs were all very good teams. The Kings team should probably be number one though on this list. The 03-04 lakers weren't that good. Payton was terrible in the triangle, Malone was injured, the role players sucked, so it was basically the Shaq-Kobe show and they weren't clicking on the same page as they were in years past. That team shouldn't be on the list at least not near the top half. Minnesota shouldn't be on that list either. They weren't that great of a team. The Suns should be higher up on that list. One year they were probably an Amare SToudemire suspension away from winning a title. And I'm glad to see the 04-05 Heat get some love. That might have been my favorite team ever to watch and they definetly deserve to be on this list. Had Wade not gotten hurt in the ECF against Detroit I am confident that they would've went on to win the title that year. Shaq was the true MVP of the league that year and Wade was one of the games best perimeter players. The role players around them complimented the stars perfectly with Eddie and Damon Jones, and Udonis Haslem. A little more depth off the bench was all they needed. When they got Zo their back up bigman was solved. Sometimes it was a little uneasy though watching Keyon Dooling be the primary ballhandler for the team.
