KurbyFX
- Price doesn't really matter. - Mostly for school.- Considering a Mac even though I hate Macs but if they're actually the top product on market and worth getting then hell, I'd get it. So yeah... no real requirements. Graphics/performance have to be at LEAST average if not better.

ManOnTheMoon
Get a MacBook pro, but after August 28th, because that's when the new version Snow Leopard comes out, and it'll only cost you 10$ to upgrade. Macbook Pro

OldChili
Sony Vaio's are pretty cool as well, especially the FW series. KurbyFX
Did you guys buy off Apple site? Does it come with warrenty? If not, how much is the extra warrenty, etc. Need all that info. I saw the FW Vaio's and they look pretty decent at that price. Fact that you can upgrade to 4G for only $20 is pretty sick.

I got mine from CompUSA when they sold Macs. Before BestBuy took that over. But they did offer a think a 2-4 year warranty, I'm sure Apple offers a some sort of protection plan. magicbalala245
I got mine from the Apple Store. And just buy the warranty it is worth it. If you break anything physical or something goes wrong internally they will fix it for up.
JWaLL
Except for a keyboard that feels like a toy, and tragic battery life. The keyboard feels fine lol. And my charger is always in my laptop once the battery power falls below 40%, so that's never a concern for me.

OldChili
Talk about overpriced. My sister got a Toshiba a few motnhs back for $300 less with better specsLol, I doubt you could get a laptop for $500 with 4GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo with over 2 GHz, and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 with 512MB RAM. I haven't seen a laptop that's $500 and came with something other than a crappy Intel GPU. It's overpriced for sure, but considering money isn't an issue, I'd go with a Sony Vaio over a Toshiba anyway. In general they look nicer and perform better. In the end, it all matters on personal preference. Edited August 25, 2009 by OldChili

That doesn't make sense either. And the computer had a 17" screen(1920x1200), 4GB DDR2-800 ram, Core 2 Duo T6400, GeForce 9600M, and a 320GB HDD. it was $559 after rebate. Much better deal, not to mention neither the HD4650 or 9600M is any good in the first place.
fly3rs18
macbook are going to be a few hundred dollars more then an equivalent speed pc what are you using it for besides web surfing? like for me im majoring in engineering so im going to have to run all of those engineering programs, so it would make no sense to buy a mac since everything comes out for PC and i agree with lkr above. i hate when people say dells suck, or toshibas are better or something like that. it is such a crazy generalization. there are some really great dells as well as some crappy dells. there are some really great toshibas as well as some really crappy toshibas

Mac Dre
lemme guess, you like your macbook because its pretty? i hate people who have no idea what they are talking about and tell everyone they know that all PC's suck actually... i started out with a pc... and are you just trying to start a fight? first of all, apple is probably one of the most successful companies ever for a computer company who does other things, i mean they have the most popular mp3 with an ipod, and itunes. even pc's have itunes. 2nd of all... macs almost never crash, and are hella easy to fix. the customer service is much better too. and i could care less how it looks. Just because they're popular doesn't mean they're good at making computers. It means they're good at marketing. Yes, Macs don't crash as much. They also aren't so susceptible to being whacked by malicious software (though they are not invincible like most Mac users believe). Those are its advantages. They simply don't outweigh the disadvantages.

Please, I get all of that. On the flipside, the only time I have ever got BSOD in Windows XP was when I installed the wrong network card driver. I don't know how that is the OS's fault though.
