The feature is there just in case one of us need a topic for future reference. Could be for anything. It's nice to have at the touch of a mouse click...but I don't see why I'd ever use it. As far as it slowing the board down, it doesn't. Nothing loads from the option being available. You're still loading the posts as if you're downloading them, just in your browser.
