Knicks look at sign-and-trades for David Lee

The Knicks are still looking into a couple of sign-and-trade possibilities for restricted free agent David Lee.

Newsday speculates that Portland and Utah may both have interest, but Lee's status as a base-year-compensation player makes the finances of a sign-and-trade incredibly complicated. If all else fails, Lee is prepared to negotiate a one-year deal and become an unrestricted FA next summer. Aug. 30 - 10:01 am et

Why would Portland and Utah be interested in David Lee? I suppose I can see it working out for Utah if they want to send Boozer to the Knicks, but it doesn't make sense for the Blazers, who are going to need all the money in the world to re-sign all of their stars very soon, and both Aldridge and Oden will be getting the bulk of the minutes in the frontcourt anyways.

I'm somewhat curious to see who we would deal for Lee. I would think maybe Outlaw and Rudy...But I hope not. I mean, I like Lee and what not but where would he play? Maybe got big with Miller, Roy, LaMarcus, Lee, and Oden as LaMarcus likes to hit that mid range jumper...I don't think it'd work but let's see what happens.
