Owner Real Deal Posted September 3, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted September 3, 2009 Many have compared Danny Granger to Scottie Pippen, and rightfully so. However, he doesn't have a Michael Jordan on his team, dominating the ball. Would you say that Danny Granger could be a better second option, or should he be a first option, on a playoff-bound team? The Great iBoldin
He's a first-option on a team that'll consistently make the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed. A second fiddle on a championship team I think though.

YugoRocketsFan
TBH, hes defenitely a leader and a 1st option, he doesnt need a wing player alongside him, just a big man.
Revis Island
Primary, he just needs a defensive big behind him, playing with Dwight Howard would make him dominant even more just with his presence

Yeah, def a first option; his numbers have gone up every single season. I think if you give the Pacers a good big they are easily a playoff team. Cleveland's Finest
Before last season I'd say he'd be better off playing behind a star as the 2nd option but his All-Star year last season showed that he deserves to be the first option offensively. Sun Tzu
I'd definitely say he best suits a Primary option.
His Greatness
He can pose as a primary option without a hitch, but ideally he's a second option on a championship team. Good but not great. Don't be fooled by his numbers.

Good but not great. Don't be fooled by his numbers. This pretty much sums it up if you ask me. He is capable of being a primary option but I doubt that a Danny Granger led team will ever win a Championship. He is better suited to being a second option. ChosenOne
Primary option for the Pacers right now.
Klashnekoff
Many have compared Danny Granger to Scottie Pippen, and rightfully so. However, he doesn't have a Michael Jordan on his team, dominating the ball. Would you say that Danny Granger could be a better second option, or should he be a first option, on a playoff-bound team? Well the Pacers are not winning a championship anytime soon, that is almost a guarentee. Grangers game is like Scotties however Scottie didn't need MJ to be successful, sure the Bulls wouldn't have won championships but neither will Grangers Pacers unless something happens in terms of incoporating a superstar player in their offense. So it's a two way type of street, Granger could be a 2nd option like Pippen and win rings behind a star like LeBron or Kobe or he could quite easily be a 1st option and run a team (unfortunetly Pippen was shadowed by MJ) but not win championships. Multi-Billionaire
Granger offense is a lot more diversed than Scottie's. I think on a team with another dominant scorer, he'd still average 22 points. After last season, I don't think he would be comfortable with being a second option, but it may be what is necessary for him to win a championship.
