magicbalala245
The New York Knicks expect to sign restricted free agent David Lee to a one-year contract at some point after Labor Day, officials familiar with the talks said Friday. Click on top of quote to read full article. What does this tell me? It tells me David is just gonna play one year in NY then leave NY. NY is trying to maintain more salary cap for LeBron. Walsh even says in the article he would of traded Lee but there was no one who wanted to take Lee.

Sun Tzu
Good sign, I expected a more longer contract though.
fish7718
more longer?? bit redundant Hopefully we will sign them both to 1 year deals. Then sign our superstars next year and RESIGN both nate n lee with bird years.
Owner Real Deal Posted September 5, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted September 5, 2009 The Knicks are going to drop him. It's pretty obvious. Even Bird Rights won't keep Lee in New York, not if the Knicks land LeBron, Bosh or Amare. Nate is a little different, though, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's dropped as well. Since drafting Jordan Hill, I think it's pretty obvious where the Knicks are headed. They want Hill to become starter-material, so they can dish out Lee for a rookie contract or a nice draft pick, which gives them the room to sign a big free agent superstar AND have enough money left over to chase a veteran with more than just the MLE. Great plan, but it's definitely not fail-proof. If the Knicks miss out on their superstar free agent, they are dead in the water.

Owner Real Deal Posted September 7, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted September 7, 2009 You aren't completely dead in the water, haha...but if guys like Jordan Hill and Danilo Gallinari don't pan out to be anything special soon, I'm not really sure what else to say if the Knicks don't pick up a superstar.
