ChosenOne
What are the chances? I am quite surprised that this has not been talked about at all. Edited September 4, 2009 by ChosenOne

Mac Dre
lakers? no way we're going to take him. clippers? so this is how they're going to screw up this year/offseason.

The Regime
Iverson coming to the Lakers, that is a ludacris idea. We dont have enough shots to go around to make everyone happy.

Well to get a ring he would have to give up something.
The Regime
Well to get a ring he would have to give up something. Yeah, that's not him. Plus I dont think we have the cap to sign him even if we were interested.

Multi-Billionaire
I'm pretty sure Real Deal, who thought AI was the main reason we made playoffs, would be ecstatic if AI signs with Lakers.
La Bomba
The Lakers can have him. As long as he doesn't go to the Grizzlies.
alcstarheel
I'm pretty sure Real Deal, who thought AI was the main reason we made playoffs, would be ecstatic if AI signs with Lakers. That doesn't even make sense. The pieces have to fit, and he fit much better in Denver back then than he would with the Lakers now. The Nuggz needed someone to take the scoring pressure off 'Melo and to get guys shots. We don't need that.
Revis Island
Even more risky move, IMO, Artest is already a risky move, now you bring in Iverson?
YugoRocketsFan
Even more risky move, IMO, Artest is already a risky move, now you bring in Iverson? Its the Lakers bro, when they automatically get a player, even if he is a trouble maker he will magically become a good player, pass, make open shots, play like a team player. Dont you see bro, he is playing for Phil Jackson who has 10 rings and he has Kobe, who will settle him straight, LOLZ. Edited September 5, 2009 by Smitty Warned, stop baiting. Smitty
This wouldn't make sense at all. He's the last sort of player they need.
Owner Real Deal Posted September 5, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted September 5, 2009 Iverson is still a 23-24 PPG player, possibly better in the right offense. But there's no chance of this happening. Our point guard must know how to hit long jumpers, play some sort of physical defense (even if it's average), and be a willing passer, in the triangle offense. Even if we had the money, Iverson doesn't belong in Los Angeles, not for the Lakers, at least.

ChosenOne
Damn no love for Iverson by the Laker fans I am surprised.
La Bomba
Because Iverson isn't a true point guard and the team will need to play with two balls if he did play point guard. Bring Iverson off the bench? Good luck containing that locker room.
Revis Island
If Iverson was willing to accept a bench role, all 30 teams in the NBA would be interested instead of 3.
Owner Real Deal Posted September 5, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted September 5, 2009 It still wouldn't work off the bench, because we would have to completely ditch the triangle offense, which is what gets us in trouble enough when Farmar and Vujacic come out launching bombs with no regard to their teammates.
