Warren2ThaG
http://bleacherreport.com/images_root/image_pictures/0638/0287/115027_feature.jpgThis Just In: Oakland Raiders Cut QB Jeff GarciaAccording to profootballtalk.com, per a league source, Oakland has cut 39-year-old journeyman Jeff Garcia. Garcia has not been too impressive this preseason, ailing from a calf injury that tainted his season last year in Tampa Bay. This cut is evidence that sloppy play will not be tolerated, even if you have good experience. Garcia's job this offseason was to push JaMarcus Russell to be better. The Raiders must feel as though his work here is done. Garcia has been very vocal to the media about his feeling that he gives Oakland the best chance of winning right now. Apparently, the coaches disagree. The move means that Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye have likely landed roster spots in Oakland for the year. I think it's a good move, one that is truly based on this offseason performance, which is what it should be about right now in Oakland.----http://bleacherreport.com/articles/248915-this-just-in-oakland-cuts-qb-jeff-garcia

xx.
Al Davis... worst owner in sports. He wants no competition at all to have Russell fall back as the #
Owner Real Deal Posted September 6, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted September 6, 2009 Just in case you haters didn't know, JaMarcus is now as good as John Elway. So YEAH.

Garcia is probably the most solid backup QB in the league. He's borderline starting material for some teams. Expect him to be signed soon. The Artesticle
lol what's wrong with having a veteran leader on the team, a solid QB at that? Who's the Raider's backup QB now? Charlie Frye? ROFL... Garcia could've gave Russell some tips and mentored him a bit. Guess that isn't needed though.
Smitty
Al Davis is prolly gonna play QB himself.

Owner Real Deal Posted September 6, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted September 6, 2009 Here's to Frye taking Russell's starting job by the third game of the season.
The Great iBoldin
Here's to Frye taking Russell's starting job by the third game of the season. Haha.. you do not want the waste of roster space that is Charlie Frye. Couldn't make it as a third-stringer with Cleveland .
Owner Real Deal Posted September 6, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted September 6, 2009 Haha.. you do not want the waste of roster space that is Charlie Frye. Couldn't make it as a third-stringer with Cleveland .Yeah, I know. I'm just hoping we get the first pick in the draft now, so we can draft Tebow and get rid of everyone else on the team except for Aso, McFadden and Miller. Warren2ThaG
Bradford is a better QB prospect then Tebow though...
The Artesticle
lol is j-russell really THAT bad?
The Great iBoldin
lol is j-russell really THAT bad? He hasn't had the proper protection to ever succeed. Mario Henderson is their starting left tackle. He has weapons now, in the form of a running game and deep threats in DHB and Higgins. Schillens is an up and coming possession receiver but that injury will set him back a bit. Remains to be seen if he'll put it together. Beastley
Patriots for Jeff would be my guess.
Cobb
Wow. That's all I've got to say. I wouldn't be surprised to see if he was picked up soon. He's still a decent option as a starter and a good backup.
