EastCoastNiner
I have a quick question for people who say no? Why? Its worked in Canada, UK, and I believe France. All developed countries. I know you live in Canada, but every Canadian I have talked to hates the plan, and I can't believe you are saying it works well in France. . Also, Brandon, let me ask you something. If you are poor, and can't pay, or refuse to pay for GOVERNMENT run health-care, do you think you should have to pay a $10,000 fine from the IRS??!?!!?!? Well, newsflash, that is what is going to happen if his healthcare plan goes through, even though the LARGE majority of the U.S. is against it. I don't get why you guys want to take a [expletive] on the U.S. Constitution. Edited October 1, 2009 by EastCoastNiner
Doc
Actually most Canadians around, I live in the more urban area of Canada and everyone loves it. There has not been alot of negative talk of the plan and it is really helpful. My grandpa has gone through alot and if it was for the plan he wouldn't be here right now. From what I know, everyone is all for the plan and I don'tknow who you talk too but the plan has been good and I hear no complaints.

Owner Real Deal Posted October 1, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted October 1, 2009 Haha, you mean this? I believe some sort of health care plan need to be put forward and put in place so everyone (only Americans) are covered. However, I just heard on fox news that a plan under consideration that DEMS oppose is a bill that would cost a family of 4 making $80,000 per year would cost the family $10,000 in annual premium or face a hefty fine from the IRS ! This is a bill that even as a Republican I do not support. My wife and I can't afford premiums of $10,000, we live from check to check ! Employers would drop their paid insurance to their employees and opt out for a Government run plan to save companies money. So, yeah...I'm already done talking about that. ECN, what's your proposal then? Do we leave the system like it is? Nothing wrong with it? I'm just curious...because for everyone who is strongly against this, they always stumble when asked that question.
Guest N4S
Either this is going to raise taxes from the 35% that we pay now to about 65%. It's all about going to the direction of socialism. The equal distribution of wealth between the public. Total bull[expletive]. The actions that Obama has been taking looks like marxism to me.

Marxism isnt so bad, but we are paying taxes for people who dont work, Communism, you have to work.
Owner Real Deal Posted October 1, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted October 1, 2009 The equal distribution of wealth between the public. Total bull[expletive].But that's the problem. Some see this as a way of putting the homeless and the drug addicts back on their feet. Not true at all. It's free health care. Just because a drug addict gets free health care doesn't mean he gets thrown into the work force again, and given a house, a car and a job with your money. People tend to pull the rope a bit too tight. This isn't going to give the lower class larger social security payments. It's not going to distribute a mass amount of food stamps to more people, and hand out more welfare checks. It's simply health care. And even I would like revisions. I'm actually against the fact that illegals could be able to get it. In fact, I'm against having illegals in this country, period. I don't care if they come from Mexico or Madagascar...if they come into our country, they need to be registered as Americans, have a driver's license, and given restrictions that ban them from government-operated programs for a certain period of time, which forces them to get a job or get off our soil. But, as I stated a bit ago, nobody else has any answers. Is the system bad? Hell yes it is. It's terrible. Anyone that wants to dispute that, please dispute it with me, and I'll show you just how bad it is. Does something need to be done? Yes. So, if something needs to be done...then what? So, if something needs to be done...then what?Completely agreed with this. We need to do something about health, and I think a public option would certatinly be a step in the right direction. Illegals getting health care would be an absolute joke. I think almost all of us could agree on that.
La Bomba
People who call Obama a communist have no idea what they are talking about. If he was running for office in Spain or any other "liberal" European country like France, he wouldn't be part of the Socialist party, he would probably be part of the Popular Party. Anyone who has progressive ideas here gets called a communist or a socialist. Edited October 5, 2009 by Poohdini
