No, Jordan did nothing for the Sixers except own them when he played them. I wouldn't want to see his number up there. I'm not a fan of retiring jersey's of players that never played for the team. And wouldn't that mean everyone with #23 would have to change their number?

If it hadn't been done for other players (as you mentioned in the poll title), I would go ahead and say no. But since 2 players already have their number retired in their leagues, I say yes. One for each sport, why not?

No IMO. Jackie broke the color barrier, so that was important. Iunno why Gretzky got his retired, even ho he's the GOAT in Hockey like Jordan is to Basketball. But if there were anyone to have that Honor, Jordan would be the only guy IMHO.

Yes, he changed basketball forever, and whether you like him or not, you have to respect what he did for the game. He didn't just revolutionize the SG position, he revolutionized basketball. Pat Riley did it with the Heat, everyone should follow in his footsteps.
