Act friendly, make some jokes, figure out what they enjoy doing and what they like to do as hobbies (ie: shopping) and go with it. Have confidence as well. Every single girl in high school needs help with something every now and then. Jump on it, become a good guy, and push the limit far enough to where you become a friend, but not THAT great of a friend...then go for the kill. You don't want to overdue the help, otherwise you could end up as her [expletive]. Be there, but not all the time. Once you're in the friend zone, it's almost impossible to pull out (that's what she said) of it.
