headliner
Miami Heat basketball operations employees have accepted up to a 20 percent pay cut in order to avoid layoffs. The cuts affect everyone in the department, including team president Pat Riley, head coach Erik Spoelstra, assistant coaches, scouts and others. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel first reported the salary reduction in its Tuesday editions. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/basketball/nba/09/15/heat.ap/index.html?eref=twitter_feed I haven’t heard too much about organizations in the league laying off people or taking pay cuts but the economy has affect a lot of leagues. In the NBA in particular some teams are trying to dump player salaries etc.
