The Goods
The Celtics want to bring Glen Davis back for the 2009-10 season, but they will have competition. Detroit and Memphis, two teams with cap space, both are expected to court Davis over the next month. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60229/20090701/pistons_grizzlies_expected_to_pursue_big_baby/

Celtics3420
Detroit wont go after him IMO. Memphis might go after him, but they wont be able to offer much because they can't offer him more than the MLE because BBD is an Early Bird Rights player. It's nicknamed the "Gilbert Arenas Provision" - which prevents teams from offering huge contracts to other teams' 2nd year RFA's, and caps the max offer that a team can make to a player in that situation at the 'average salary', the MLE. So if Memphis offers him the MLE, then we're [expletive]ed, because i wouldn't want to pay him MLE. We'll see. In all likelihood, he'll remain a Celtic.
