Be Like Mike
Lakers guard Kobe Bryant will not become an unrestricted free agent after choosing not to terminate his contract, a source close to Bryant said Tuesday. Instead, Bryant is expected to sign a three-year extension on top of his existing two-year contract at some point in July. Today was the last possible day for Bryant to become a free agent, but the 13-year veteran did not do so because he wanted to "let Lamar [Odom] and Trevor [Ariza] have their day," according to the source, who wasn't authorized by Bryant to speak publicly about the decision. Lkr
I wish Kobe would opt out and take a paycut. Of course, that would never happen.
The Goods
I wish Kobe would opt out and take a paycut. Of course, that would never happen. He deserves every penny of his contract, it's not his responsibility.

Owner Real Deal Posted July 1, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted July 1, 2009 At least he didn't opt out and demand more money. That was the potential problem.

Check my Stats
Lol Kobe is going to cripple the Lakers ability to contend long term and field a deep team for years. Between Pau, Kobe and Bynum the Lakers will take up their entire cap, not sure how much the Lakers are willing to go over the Lux Tax but it's going to be hard to fill out a roster when Kobe is making 1/2 the cap in 3 years.
