Legacy
Is it safe to say that Drew Brees is the best qb in the league? Why or why not?
Phightins
As of this second, I'd say so. If he isn't #1, he is #2.
Make It Naaaashty
Yes, right now he is.
Owner Real Deal Posted September 20, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted September 20, 2009 Yes, for 3 1/2 quarters...but I take Brady for the final possession.
EastCoastNiner
I'm not sure, but there is obviously a strong argument for him being the best QB in the NFL. However, I'm not sold on him beating the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. How does he perform in crunch time?
Diesel
Yeah I said this last year too. He should've won MVP last year, but somehow Peyton got it. Without Brees I don't think the Saints wins 4 games. He makes that team go and has a super quick release with amazing accuracy.

fish7718
Wrong. Phillip Rivers should have won the MVP.Yeah because it's not like Rivers plays on one of the most talented teams in the NFL. I vote 'No'. I said it before I'll say it again. Brees plays with one of the best offensive minds of our time Sean Payton. In the system he is in he has a lot of opportunities to succeed. Not trying to take anything away from him I still think he is a top 3 QB in the NFL, however, I'd take Brady and Manning over him.

I agree with Fish and if you put Brees in the AFC i dont think he would be dominating teams like he does in the NFC
SRT Spidey
right now it looks like Brees and Rivers will be the next top 2 QBs along with Roethlisberger when Bray and Manning start to fade
ChosenOne
As of right now yes he is.
His Greatness
Not yet. He's the hottest QB in the league right now and has an insane amount of weapons at his disposal so the dominance on the stat-sheet is expected, but I'll take Manning and Brady (if he he's healthy) over him right now. Settle down people. Edited September 21, 2009 by His Greatness
Revis Island
This season he has been, but he needs to prove it where it matters the most, The playoffs.
The Regime
Saints have been playing with good leads in both of the first two games, I want to see what Brees can do when he has his back against the wall. For now I'll say yes, but I'm sure that will change as the season goes.

For now I'll say yes, but I'm sure that will change as the season goes. That's true. So far he hasn't had to lead any comebacks or "important" drives. In a few more weeks we'll be able to tell for sure if he's better than the others. One things for sure though, Brady is certainly not the to QB in the game anymore. fly3rs18
i voted no, but he is pretty close. brees has to be number 3, i cant put him ahead of brady or manning, a huge reason being playoff performance. brady and manning both lead their teams to championships and they have had a lot of success in the big games. brees is a great qb, but he just isnt quite better then those 2 right now it looks like Brees and Rivers will be the next top 2 QBs along with Roethlisberger when Bray and Manning start to fade what?? brees is only 2 years younger then brady and 3 younger then manning
bigdog17k
Drew Brees is currently the best QB so far "this" season.

A.K.
Brees hasn't had to lead any late drives or had his back against the wall because he's been dominating teams from the start of the game.
