MainEv3nt
Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin says the team feels as though they are better than the defending-champion Lakers. Martin was asked by 104.3 The Fan in Denver what the team learned from their deep playoff run this past season. "That you have to play on a consistent basis throughout the regular season and just better your position. Just learn from the things we did right last year and learn from things we did wrong, but we had a great run," Martin said on the radio. "I think guys know that we were right there and everybody in that locker room and in the organization feels we were a better team than the Lakers. Everybody feels we were a better team than the Lakers and no one can tell me anything different. No one." http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/61695/20090921/martin_nuggets_are_better_than_lakers/

Warren2ThaG
He always say stuff like this. They aren't even better then SA. Let alone trying to hold off Portland in their own division who is now better then Denver.

Mac Dre
back on subject. nuggets last year was the dream season for them. they had a chance of beating the lakers, a small one, and if they did they would have beaten the magic. now we all know they are good, and the lakers, spurs, and blazers will all be better than them this year. Denver doesn't have the size and defense up front to stop Dwight, kinda shocked to see Gasol do it, although I figured Pau COULD play good defense. It did take a Gasol/Odom combo to get it done, though. Thing is, Orlando would've had home court, and it was the Lakers' perimeter defense that also kept the Magic from netting 300 threes against us, especially late in the game, while Billups is more of a post-up defender, and so is Melo (when he plays defense). Denver won't win a title until they get rid of George Karl and bring in a consistent first option at the power forward spot. Go after Larry Brown, trade for someone like Bosh or Amare, then make your run. Won't happen, though. This season, they'll run into the Spurs or Mavs, and it won't be pretty, assuming both teams stay healthy.
Poe
I think the Nuggets are still legit contenders and could still possibly be better than the Spurs and the Blazers. The Lakers are on another level, though. You have to be blind to not see this inevitable dynasty. BTW, last year's Nuggets vs Lakers was like the '02 Lakers vs Kings. Whoever would win that series was winning the Championship.
Guest Nissan
Easy to talk crap in the off-season. Lakers vs. Chicken Nuggets in the playoffs: 2-
