La Bomba
For a guy who hardly allows a day to expire without using Twitter, Grizzlies rookie Hasheem Thabeet is going through serious withdrawal. This has nothing to do with the league's new policy on social media. The 7-3 rookie center is just too mentally and physically drained to "tweet" after being baptized in the rigors of an NBA training camp. "When I get back to my (hotel) room," Thabeet said, "I just want to shower, eat and go to sleep. I don't think about anything else." Such is life for the No. 2 overall pick who, along with fellow rookies DeMarre Carroll and Sam Young, has found that the NBA does stand for No Boys Allowed. It has been a tough week -- seven practices in four days -- adjusting to an environment that requires rookies to take in a wealth of basketball knowledge and use it to grow up fast. "Everything is going so quick," Thabeet said. "I feel the pressure. They're throwing a lot at me, but it's about trying to make me better and get me ready for the season. I'm just trying to do whatever they want me to. If they tell me to be somewhere, that's where I'll be. I'm trying to pay as much attention as I can. I like learning new stuff. I believe I'll get better." http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2009/oct/02/tough-love-coach-lionel-hollins-gets-grizzlies-cas/
