Mentch
So yeah, even though Texas played in the tougher American League, and they were tied for the best record out of all of these teams, I'm gonna say San Francisco is the best non-playoff team, because they played in a division that had 2 playoff teams and still managed to finish above .500 and almost qualify for a playoff spot. Mac Dre
i voted the rangers. they were in there with the wild card race a few weeks before the end, and they had lots of injuries.
Phightins
I'd vote for the Braves. I think that they have the best rotation 1-5 in the National League, and pitching typically wins in the postseason. In a short series, the Giants would be very tough to beat, but in a 7 game series I honestly think the Braves could beat just about anybody. Very happy to see that they didn't make it haha. bigdog17k
I would think it's the Giants.
EastCoastNiner
It's the Detroit Tigers or the Minnesotta Twins, depending on the outcome of tomorrow's game.
kingfish
Id say the Braves. Vazquez, Lowe, Jurjens, and other good pitchers too. Plus pretty good offense with Chipper, Mcann, Mclouth, Anderson, Escobar. Next id probably say the Marlins. Johnson and Nolasco are sick, and besides Hanley they had some other good bats as well. Cohglan had most hits since all star break. NL East was good this year. 3rd would be Rangers. They had some good pitchers and bullpen, and balanced offense but not dominant. If they had the offense of years past, they would have made the playoffs. 4th would be Giants. Terrific pitching, although Cain fell off after the break. Anemic hitting. Last would be the AL Central winner. Their just not very well balanced clubs. Tigers starters really choked and have too many rookies, plus not a good lineup and they dont get on base very well. The Twins with Morneua however, would be higher up on this list. They have a pretty good offense without him, very good offense with him. And a decent 1-5 with a solid pen. Lone Wolf
Actually, the Twins pitching has improved tremendously this past month.
Jenneral
Milwaukee Brewers? Especially if we could have gotten some pitching at some point during the season. <_<
