La Bomba
When the Grizzlies' open practice began Sunday evening in the 2,000-seat Bill Battle Coliseum at Birmingham-Southern College, coach Lionel Hollins grabbed the microphone and talked the crowd through several drills. He was sharp and informative a la former Griz coach Hubie Brown. By many accounts, Hollins came off as entertaining and smooth before the team tipped off a 24-minute game. While the scrimmage may have drawn plenty of cheers from the crowd, the Grizzlies' play left a different impression on Hollins and his coaching staff. There still is a lot to smooth out. The first six days of training camp produced 10 practices -- some good, some bad -- and at least 10 things learned about the Grizzlies. Some of their early traits generate great optimism while others make you cringe. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2009/oct/05/griz-a-work-in-progress/ Work in progress?! There supposed to be perfect after 10 practices.
