Built Ford Tough
The Lakers aren't planning on offering Jordan Farmar a contract extension this season, which in many ways leaves his future uncertain. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-lakers-fyi11-2009oct11,0,794430.story I like this move from the Lakers. Rather than just handing Farmar an extension they are going to force him to earn one. Even if they decide that they want him back, he will be an RFA at the end of the year and they can still match any contract that gets offered to him. They can see the market value for him and if it is something that they are willing to pay they can just match any deal. If not, they can just let somebody overpay to get him. Owner Real Deal Posted October 12, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted October 12, 2009 Farmar still lacks lateral quickness, exposing him on defense. Offensively, he belongs on a run and gun team, such as the Suns. Truth is, he's a shoot-first PG that doesn't need to be featured as a potential starter or sixth man in an offense that relies heavily on passing the ball, simple as that. Problem solved.
