Sun Tzu
Suns coach Alvin Gentry doesn't believe that center Amare Stoudemire is back to 100% physically. Stoudemire worked hard to get back in shape this summer after a pair of eye surgeries and is using the preseason to sharpen his game. "Amare's going to get better," Gentry told the Arizona Republic. "He's just not physically where he's going to be. I like the effort he's playing with. I think he's playing harder than he's played the last five years that I've been here. ... He just can't quite complete certain plays." http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/62081/20091012/gentry_stoudemire_isnt_100_percent_yet/
Owner Real Deal Posted October 14, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted October 14, 2009 With eye problems, especially a previously detached retina, he can't work out as hard...and he never will be able to. It doesn't take much to move that scar tissue around, and that will begin to pull on the retina again. That's why it's so dangerous to play sports, especially a physical sport such as basketball...and especially on a professional level. He's lucky to even be playing, just as Kareem was. Amare320
He is wearing those protection glasses/goggles this season right? hope he's not going to be foolish and take them off again.

Sun Tzu
Last time I saw him which was the Golden State outdoor game, Amar'e had his goggles on so that's a relief.
