AboveLegit
Who's better in the clutch?
Owner Real Deal Posted October 14, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted October 14, 2009 Experience counts. I take Pierce right now, especially when he gets the ball a foot or two beyond the elbow. That's an automatic shot for him if there isn't an excellent defender in his jaw.
Erick Blasco
Both are money in the clutch. Pierce has done it against better defenses in the playoffs though.
Taber
I am biased but I would take Pierce. He has proven to be big in the playoffs. He is clutch. I can't think of many others I would take ahead of him if he is taking that elbow shot.
DWhiTex34
Pierce. No explanation needed.
Revis Island
Pierce, but Melo has surpassed him as a player.
Ignition
Carmelo Anthony. Paul Pierce has him beat in defense, clutchness and 3 point shooting but Carmelo is a more dynamic scorer. The only area of his game that needs serious improvement is his defense. He does not need as much space as Paul Pierce does to shoot. Melo could drain jumpers without having to take a step back like Paul Pierce does and he could also score around the paint more efficiently. This is a very close comparison but Melo's advantage on scoring swayed me to pick him as the better player.
Ignition
Oops I didn't read the question
Check my Stats
Pierce, as much as I hate him, has ice running through his veins in the last 2 minutes. His mid range game is as good as anyones. Melo is definitely a bigger star and better individual player now though without question. Probably the best pure scorer in the NBA. ankit p
Haha, this is an obvious answer, its Melo!
CaliCurbStomppa
Melo for sure. I have a lot respect for Pierce's game but Melo had some great clutch games as individual including that 3 against Mavs in playoffs last year which was very phenomenal and he had a lot games where he made some tough ones.
