Teletopez
Sean Williams’ name didn’t come up in all the recent discussions about the power rotation. It rarely does nowadays, though it was hard to overlook that he had a strong practice Tuesday. We only get to see 10- or 15-minute scrimmage segments, but this much was obvious: If there’s one guy who likes – nay, loves – the opportunity to guard Senor Pez, it’s Sean. He’s giving away four inches and 35 pounds, but he doesn’t back down. And it’s times like these when you wonder, “Why can’t he bring this spirit every day?” His future isn’t in New Jersey – by now, everyone knows this. Yi Jianlian and Courtney Lee will get their extensions in a few days, but Williams will have to scrounge around for a job next year, perhaps on a make-good. The team gave Leon Rose the freedom to find a resting place for him months ago, and there haven’t been any takers. It’s almost as if the Nets don’t know what to do with him. Put it this way: He’s been given exactly six minutes of daylight in the last four games – and the positions he’s ostensibly competing for are wide open. That’s not exactly a vote of confidence. Dave D Quite a shame how he could never reach the high point with us. At one point he's arrested, and at another, he's ready to spend his whole summer in the gym. Yet, the struggles continue. Universe
I remember being so happy watching him and Boone play in his rookie year and that's all gone to hell.
