Built Ford Tough
The Thunder are led by three very young players, but are hoping to improve vastly this season. Jeff Green is 23, Kevin Durant is 21 and Russell Westbrook is 20. "We have the guys that can make a huge jump," veteran forward Nick Collison told the Oklahoman. The team is trying to build on back-to-back seasons of 23-59 and 20-62. "Our guys, they want to be better players," said coach Scott Brooks. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/62337/20091025/thunder_hoping_for_vast_improvement/ The playoffs are a possibility, I guess, but I have said before that the Thunder might be better off having another relatively poor seasn if it means getting a pretty good draft pick. They are lacking a good, solid big man and this years draft has a lot of big man depth in it. Getting a player like Cole Aldrich or even a prospect big man like Soloman Alabi (although the Sonics/Thunder franchise haven't had much luck with prospect bigs) could very well set this roster up long term at basically every position, assuming that they are able to keep them all together. They should obviously set their goals as high as possible and shoot for the playoffs, but it wouldn't be a bad thing if they did not make the playoffs, in my mind at least. moeroadkill
i would rather playoff experience than a big man blazers area prime example of what the thunder would look like and im not too sure if we keep fishing from the draft its going to make this squad contenders i would much rather the team go after someone this/next offseason. i still think bosh if he leaves (dont think he will) we should try to sign him. and no no no no to all 'prospects' if we are the the lottery i would much rather get a proven player (not sure/dont know the names of the big men in college yet). Sun Tzu
The Thunder are one of my favourite team but I wouldn't care less whether they make it to the playoffs or not because by going to the playoffs they will get experience for Durant and the others but if they were to miss out on the playoffs they would most likely add a pretty decent big man to the team to complete their starting line up.
