YugoRocketsFan
Well at least the ending of the world series will get people focused on basketball!
Owner Real Deal Posted November 2, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 2, 2009 Yeah, money has been buying the Yankees their World Series victories since...uh...oh yeah, it hasn't since the dynasty. It's never an issue UNTIL they come in and win it all.
Phightins
I like how one Phillies fan makes a comment about money, and all of a sudden all of the Yankees fans (and Yankees "fans") come in and turn it into a big deal. Jesus, just enjoy the win, don't worry about what other people are saying.

Just accept that your closer blew a game you should've won and don't blame it on things like money.  Philly fans are supposed to be these great fans. Man up and accept the L. This was the most painful loss I have ever gone through as a Philadelphia sports fan, I do not have to accept it. And for the record, I did not say a word about money, one Phillies fan did. Jesus, just enjoy the win, don't worry about what other people are saying.I like how the Philly fans (and Philly "fans") were the ones declaring it was OVER after that Game 2 win, because the Phillies were just so devastating at home. But in the end, it's NOW about money again. Whether it's the Philly fans or Philly "fans" that say it, I don't see anyone pro-Phillies debating it...and that's what makes this World Series so bitter sweet. We are enjoying the win, by the way. We (including me, the "fan") won two consecutive in Philly. That was just so amazingly impossible, it's hard not to enjoy it.

We have all been through thick and thin with this group for years and years, and we all just had our hearts ripped out. But I am glad you enjoyed that, kudos. I'm just rooting for them. Rooting for a team doesn't make you a "fan" of them. And most people rooting for the Yankees that AREN'T fans are probably doing so because of the Philly fanbase...but I'm sure that never crossed your minds. Read back a ways. Cool irrelevant points. The Yankees have been hated by their attempt at "buying a championship" for years. So don't be like "OH NOW THAT WERE GONNA WIN PEOPLE SUDDENLY HATE US FOR IT" because that is horsecrap. The Yankees have been the most hated team every year this decade and that is one of the main reasons aside from all of the frontrunning fans they have all over the country. YugoRocketsFan
You guys might hate Philly fans but you should respect them for liking their hometown team which 75% of people dont do .
Owner Real Deal Posted November 2, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 2, 2009 LOL, there are tons of bandwagoners and fairweather fans because they have the most fans in professional baseball, just as the Lakers in basketball. I'm sure that logic tells you that there are probably more male fans, also...and that there are possibly more female fans, that there are, just maybe, more disabled fans.  I have five packs of Starbursts, I bet I have more reds than you do because you only have one pack (just trying to help you out with this, because you don't seem to want to understand it). You're just pissed you lost tonight. Glad you weren't able to post last night, because I bet you were pissed off then, also.

I'm sure that logic tells you that there are probably more male fans, also...and that there are possibly more female fans, that there are, just maybe, more disabled fans. Â It's because those teams have been the most consistant at winning over the history of their league. The Yankees have 26 Championships which is far and away the most and the Lakers have been a consistent contender in every decade and have the highest winning % in the league. Â Notice the two teams are the most accomplished. They also have the most fans. Thus they are bandwagoners. And don't blame the markets either otherwise the Knicks would have the most basketball fans. Â So to sum it up in one simple sentence(since you don't seem to get it), is that these team's have the most band wagoners because they have traditionally been the best in their respective leagues. Let me go back to our OLD database and show you what was posted after the Lakers/Suns series, then you'll shut up about it? Because I'd rather not have to make you look like a fool. You know...check this out, since you know so much around here...give me one person that has been banned for posting "stuff like this" after a Lakers loss. Ever heard of a member named bangbangbang? How about YugoRocketsFan? How about Diesel? If you want ten more members, let me know. If you want some posts from our older database, give me a day. OR...you can just get over your loss already.

Phightins
 OR...you can just get over your loss already. No, this loss is going to take a while to get over. You are talking lightly about it, you really have no idea. I don't even know if there is an NBA equivalent I can give. Just imagine the Lakers losing in the finals in one of the worst ways imaginable, and you might have an idea. So if I have really offended you here tonight, I apologize, but my OTR rep is not at the front of my mind right about now.

I didn't whine and cry about it, not caring about my reputation on the board and punching my pillow.
