fish7718
Agreed. A world champion is only crowned if its not the Yankees. However they appear to win it so there is no 09 world champion. :glasses:Sore loser? Get over it. Referee's are blowing this game HUGE.That's Joe West for you. kingfish
Sore loser? Get over it. Most teams have to grow their talent and spend their money wisely, and just getting to a world series would be a dream because of how hard they had to work to get there. For the Yankees, its spend the most money on every free agent and hope it works out, if it doesnt, just go out the next year and buy the next class of free agents. When you have the top 5 most lucrative contracts in baseball history all on one team, theres a problem. I never said they werent the best team in baseball, but they are for the most part composed of a team of greedy players, and a franchise who doesnt even need a minor league system or a budget. Just think of all the hard work the Rays had to do just to make the Series, it took them years of growing their talent and finally getting the right combination. Its not a cop out, its the truth. The Yankees dont deserve and did not earn this title. Deny it all you want, but dont tell others to change their opinions on it.

The Yankees dont deserve and did not earn this title. Deny it all you want, but dont tell others to change their opinions on it.You know, I've kept my mouth shut on this subject for the most part on the board, but let me spit my take before this argument starts up again. Can we stop it with the Yankees buying championships, honeslty it's a pretty sad cop out by most of you people on this board. Why don't you just give them the respect they diserve rather than hide behind that retarded cop out. Do you blame the Yankees owners for spening their revenue on players? It is the fans that create the revenue for the owners so in esence it's the fans money buying the players. However besides that, who's fault is it that players will take LESS money to sign with the Yankees than other teams, the Yankees? Get over it, it's obvious spending money to buy championships isn't the main ingredient. The funny part is the Yankees spend most of this money because they OVERPAY guys like Jeter, Posada, and Rivera, guys who wouldn't sign anywhere else however the Yankees still dish out the money because those guys deserve in their mind. Another funny thing is it Phillies fans talking about the Yankees payroll, in 2-3 years if the Phillies expect to keep the level of talent they have on their roster right now they are going to have to be a top 5 payroll in baseball, guaranteed. So if the Yankees win tonight, instead of making a retarded comment like "Way to buy another ring." Why don't you just give the fans and the team the respect they deserve for being the best team in baseball. Lol Kingfish, sore loser still? Get over it. kingfish
The Yankees payroll : 201 million The Angels : 113 million How am I crying? The Yankees infield with CC pitching makes about as much as the Angels team combined.
Phightins
Great season Phils. No shame in taking a 103 win team that is clearly superior on paper to game 6 of the World Series, I guess. Owner Real Deal Posted November 5, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 5, 2009 Haha, the payroll whining was never as evident as it is now...when everyone was saying that money CAN'T buy championships, laughing about it and saying they would never have the talent to get it done...well, things sure do change ever so quickly. Â Great run, Yankees and their fans. Congrats on the championship.
The Next Knick
Finally, we're champs again. I've been waiting for this since 2000. Flash
WORLD CHAMPS!! We've waited 9 years to get back here and this is just awesome. Great team effort to win this one. It was kinda sad not seeing Steinbrenner there but it was great seeing Jeter, Mo, Andy and Jorge get to celebrate a championship one more time.  Why am I also not surprised to see a Mets fan whining about the payroll.  Also, congrats to the Phillies on a great season and a great series. They had a heck of a run. I'm going to go Friday to the parade, ah this is amazing. You lucky bastard!

Cobb
Hack, the Yankees technically should win it every year since they always got the highest payroll, which usually means you have the best player(s). Congratulations to the real Yankee fans and [expletive] the bandwagoners. Phightins
Why do I have a feeling that this won't end well? Â Anyway, before this gets locked I will put my final 2 cents in. As I said I am very happy with the Phillies season despite losing in the end. I am happy for a lot of the players on the Yankees. I do not mind most of the guys on the team and am happy for the guys like Tex and Matsui who are getting their first rings. Â I already want Spring Training here.
