magicbalala245
If true, Laker haters are on suicide watch. LOL. I love it. Man, I need a Lakers rep to confirm this. Lakers spokesman John Black declined to comment on Artest's assertion, but another person with knowledge of the situation corroborated Artest's account that he will sign with L.A. pending the financial parameters being finalized. Owner Real Deal Posted July 2, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted July 2, 2009 Well, we have a strong, physical defender at the three. This is exactly what I've been waiting for. Kobe just shrugged off about 1/3 of the load, and he'll be all over the place on offense now, and we're also preserving him for the future. Imagine having another guy that can create his own shots and make tough shots anywhere on the court, let us not forget Ron Ron averaged 17 points during the regular season, although his FG % was bad, its because he had to take a lot of tough shots and force them. Now he will score much easier. He led the Rockets to the 2nd round, imagine what he will do for us playing along side Kobe.

magicbalala245
Free-agent forward Ron Artest says he's leaving the Houston Rockets to join the Los Angeles Lakers. In a text message to ESPN.com on Thursday night, Artest wrote: "I am happy to say I am goin' to L.A." ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reports that Artest and the Lakers have reached a verbal agreement on what is believed to be a three-year contract worth an estimated $18 million. Wednesday is the first day free agents are permitted to sign new deals. Artest's decision was first reported by CBSSports.com. The mercurial swingman was initially courted by the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his text message, Artest said that he met Thursday with Lakers owner Jerry Buss and had spoken to coach Phil Jackson about the move to Los Angeles, where Artest has been spending his offseasons. Artest's forthcoming arrival strongly suggests that unrestricted free agent Trevor Ariza -- who played such a pivotal run in the Lakers' championship run -- is bound to leave the team. Broussard reported Wednesday that, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations, Ariza was likely to leave the Lakers for a new team because L.A. was reluctant to sign him to a contract starting above the league's $5.6 million mid-level exception, even after Ariza's postseason success. Ariza has been courted by numerous teams, including Cleveland, and met Thursday in Las Vegas with Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey to possibly swap spots with Artest. Phil better be able to reign him in.

I'm going to miss Ron in Houston. Bye! Chris Broussard said Odom will most likely come back to LA but instead of getting his 10 million cause there is no market for Odom he will most likely settle for 8 million a year with LA. This is truly a good day in LA. Edited July 3, 2009 by magicbalala245
