Revis Island
Pretty obvious it would be somebody from the Celtics, but it who would be the MVP for that team? Rondo, Pierce, KG, Ray-Ray?
Poe
Either KG or Rondo, but even though I know Rondo has been extremely solid for the Celtics, it's really hard to see him as a league MVP... so it goes to Garnett. CaliCurbStomppa
KG because he makes that team so dominated
Zolor23
KG or Pierce, but if KG is averaging 13 and 7 already, he can be back to 20, 10 form pretty soon and Pierce will only score as season goes on, that 7.5 RPG won't continue
Owner Real Deal Posted October 31, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted October 31, 2009 Ray Allen. He spreads the floor and wears down the dominant two-guards by playing exceptionally well off the ball (probably the best since Reggie Miller). kingfish
Rondo cause he does it all.
Force
Rajon Rondo as league MVP? Yeah right...all four would prolly split the votes and then Kobe/Lebron would take the crown again.
kingfish
Rajon Rondo as league MVP? Yeah right...all four would prolly split the votes and then Kobe/Lebron would take the crown again.Uhh, its not all that impossible if you think about it. He did average very very close to a triple double in the playoffs last year, 9.7 RPG and 9.8 APG to be exact. So far this year hes averaging almost 6 boards per game, 12 assists per game, 2 steals per game, and shooting over 60 %. Those numbers are good, but if he improves his points to somewhere around 10 per game he should win MVP if in fact the Celtics do win 70 games. Force
The MVP is a prestigious award..its gone to players like Jordan, Magic, Duncan, Shaq...etc. in the past, and for somebody like Rondo to win it at this point in his career would be dumb. It either KG or Pierce if anything.

If it is, then Kobe would have at least 3 MVPs by now. Instead, this award is given to the best player of the best team (in my opinion it should be given to the truly "most valuable" player, meaning the player who is most valuable to his team, but whatever). If the Celtics wind up with the best record in the league by a good margin, then the player with the best season performance will be given the award, and Rondo has a chance to prove that.  BTW, I don't think he will actually get the award, but considering this, I don't think it's impossible. Poe
Agreed. It either KG or Pierce if anything. You don't think that Rondo will be named up with those players by the end of his career? He has already put up triple-double numbers in the playoffs at only 23 years old. At this rate, he may have an HoF career.

He needs to convince me that he can put up similar numbers when he doesnt have the likes of KG, Pierce, and Ray Allen on the team.
bigdog17k
I think by default it would just be Pierce. But who knows.
Amare320
I would love it to be Ray Ray!
Owner Real Deal Posted November 1, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 1, 2009 Well, I have to change my answer after reading the question again. Who WOULD win? Probably Pierce. Who SHOULD win? Ray. And that's assuming the MVP comes from Boston. But it wouldn't.
Jenneral
I'd have to go with Pierce as well. He's a solid player and a proven leader. If this team can win 70+ games (doubtful) a lot of that would be thanks to him.
His Greatness
If the Celtics win 70+ games, LeBron will win MVP. If the Celtics win 82 games, LeBron will still win MVP.
