magicbalala245
According to a Twitter post by Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Trevor Ariza will become a very rich man at the hands of the team that loses out on Hedo Turkoglu. League executives believe Portland or Toronto, whichever team does not sign Turkoglu, will offer Ariza between $32 million and $40 million deal. http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/4034/picture3gnq.png LA needs Ron Ron bad now Edited July 2, 2009 by magicbalala245

The Artesticle
LMAO!!! Talk about overpaying if true. I love Trev, but he wasn't much before Kobe/Pau. Now he's getting borderline allstar money? Somebody can overpay, not us. He could end up being a contract year player anyways, when it's all said and done. He has foot problems, he cannot create his own shot, and he can barely dribble the ball. I fully expect Mitch to move on and use the MLE on Ron Ron, or Shawn Marion, since he won't be back in Toronto. Thanks for the ring Trev! We'll get better without ya! kingfish
Hahah Trevor will be nothing without Kobe. If he goes to Cleveland, im sure Lebron will get the most out of him. Still, I think he might stay in the West.

Cleveland's Finest
I understand not wanting to pay too much, but if Ariza is willing to leave we must take him. Ariza, Mo, Delonte, Verajao, Green, Hickson could be title contenders or years and LeBron would have a better chance of winning more rings with that than going to the Nets and playing with a great guard and no one else. The Cavs will be lucky to get one ring yet you are talking about multiple rings. All those guys you just mentioned are average role players besides Mo. Watch a Nets game and the difference between the two teams in one has the league MVP, and the other does not. Take him out of the picture and the teams are pretty similar except Nets have a better future. As for Ariza, tooooooooooooooooooo much money. If you think Lebron is that good that he can win MULTIPLE titles with them, you're kidding yourself. Kobe still needed some very good players on his team to win his titles, and you think Lebron can do it with those scrubs?

Dude shut up, making it harder for LeBron to get to the basket? So I guess Shaq really made it tough for Kobe and Wade to get to the basket? Those guys experienced their biggest success driving to the basket with Shaq on their team and they won titles.

Why would Shaq make it harder for Lebron to get to the basket....? It's not like Shaq is just going to sit there and set a pick on his teammate. How often do you see a player run into their own teammate on their way to a basket? Maybe once or twice each year, and it ends up on a blooper reel. Shaq isn't necessarily making the Cavs a guarenteed championship contender, but he isn't going to get in the way of his own teammates. He drives to the basket and scores or gets fouled (getting fouled a lot actually). You put Shaq in the paint and Lebron has to get through his own frontcourt if he wants to get to the basket. You put Shaq in the paint and Lebrons field goal % probably goes down like 5 %, btw Shaq is a lot older now. Kobe and Dwayne had Shaq in his prime, Shaq is much slower and injury prone then he ever was. Edit because I have to explain it again. Shaq siting in the paint 2 or 3 feet away from the basket meaning when Lebron drives Shaqs defender will get in the way of Lebron, and there would be no point in Lebron kicking it out to Shaq because he cant shoot a jumper. Thats why Lebron played so well with Z, cause teams could not help off of Z and Lebron had an open paint. Lebron have fun going through 3 defenders now and your only passing option is a guy that cant score outside of 3 feet. If so, Lakers will match. You really think Trevor is going to bolt for cold town Cleveland, with Lebron James's future in question, when he can stay with the guys and the team he won a championship for, the city he grew up in, and the city his family lives in? Real genius right there. Only way Trevor leaves is if another team with cap space offers him the 8-9 million dollar deal his agent keeps crying about, or if the Lakers decide they rather sign someone like Ron Artest or Shawn Marion to the same contract. If we want him back, most likely he will be back. If we don't want him back, most likely we upgrade anyways.

His Greatness
Uhh, Kobe and Wade were both dominant perimeter players. Lebron not so much. Kobe and Dwayne had Shaq in his prime, Shaq is much slower and injury prone then he ever was.Kobe is a perimeter-oriented player now. Back in the three-peat years when he was at the peak of his athleticism, when his jumper wasn't flawless, he could and would get to the cup at will. Wade has never been a "perimeter-dominant" player, especially not in '06 when he didn't have that reliable mid-range J (he still doesn't have the three-point shot LeBron has). The bulk of his offense is generated from penetration, just as it is with LeBron. Lebron have fun going through 3 defenders now and your only passing option is a guy that cant score outside of 3 feet.He also gives Cleveland the long-awaited post presence, someone else that can draw a second defender, an effective finisher, and another player with passing skills that can set up his teammates... which all, most importantly, means a hefty reduction in LeBron's workload. It's not that cut-and-dry, dude. Shaq won't clog the lane anymore than Varejao did, who had no offensive skills to speak of. Besides, LeBron is way too good to be getting contained by his own player... and Shaq, while old and increasingly immobile, is still a terrific dump-off option and is smart enough to find the openings when the defense collapses on LeBron. There are foreseeable drawbacks, but they're chiefly defensive concerns, mainly PNR coverage. It's still an upgrade from Ilgauskas because Shaq gives them a thick big that can body up Dwight more effectively.
Owner Real Deal Posted July 2, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted July 2, 2009 Thing about Shaq is he doesn't draw doubles against Perkins and Howard (most of the time), and at the end of the day, it's against Boston and Orlando that counts most.
