I was in those other two threads about LeBron headed to Miami and New Jersey, and I was just thinking about who I think is potentially in the best position headed into one of the most anticipated off-seasons in NBA history and I wanted to hear everyone's thoughts.

Everyone is talking up the Knicks for LeBron, but I really think that the Nets are in the best position to flip their team into a contender in the free agency sweepstakes starting with the King himself.

Who do you guys think is headed into 2010 in the best position to make noise the following year?

Easily the Nets. They have enough money to give two superstars, all while keeping Lopez, Harris, CDR and Williams. Sign a few minimums, bring back the others that are still on contract, and bang...you're a contender in the East.

Don't rule out what the Clippers can do, though. They have enough cap room to sign LeBron or Wade, bring in a veteran player with a little cash, and still keep Gordon, Griffin and Kaman.

I'd say the Nets and Heat. The Nets have enough money to bring in a superstar and another quality guy even with a drop in the cap. In regards to LeBron, Marc Stein pointed out that while they have some nice young pieces, location could be a big issue because they are going to play in Newark for a least another 2 years.

Miami has Dwyane Wade, South Beach and Pat Riley working in their favor as Stein said. I think NJ and Miami will split Bosh and James to be honest.

I suggest checking out the article Stein wrote here:
