Phightins
Haha. Well I was thinking about it, and other than Pat Burrell he is the best outfielder this system has produced in 20 years probably.

Cobb
Good to see the Cardinals getting Holliday locked up for a while. He and Pujols are going to be amazing. --- Well, the Braves finally finalized a 1 year deal with Troy Glaus worth about $1.75 million. Only thing I'm worried about is his ability to adjust and play first base and whether or not he can stay healthy.
Phightins
It will be very interesting to see how the Pujols contract plays out. When it's all said and done the Cardinals will be paying $40+ million to two players and will probably be looking at a $140ish million payroll, which is astronomical by their standards. Cobb
Wow, the Dodgers signed Russ Ortiz. I haven't heard anything about him in years. I guess they're hoping he'll have another amazing season like he did when he was on the Braves. Should be interesting to see how this plays out. Minor league deal with an invite to spring training, so chances are he doesn't even make the roster. Can't hurt for depth purposes though. The Artesticle
Chapman to Reds for 30 million.
Phightins
The promise is there, but that is way too much money for a guy who is at least a year or 2 away from pitching in the Majors. Obviously tons of raw talent and he looks like he'll be a stud but this is no slam dunk, that is for sure. Reds taking a big risk.

Reds taking a big risk.Maybe, I like it, I would love for the Mets to take a risk like this. 6 Million a year is a lot but if he pans out it's totally worth it. Even if he turns into a good-great reliever thats what good relievers go for now. It's a medium risk high reward signing. The Reds aren't getting big FA's or winning nething soon neway. Eh, it just kind of says something to me when a team like the Reds gives him $30 million, and none of the big boys even attempt to top it. I will be honest, other than just a few internet videos I have not seen much of Chapman, but most people in the know seem to think he is a decent bit away from being an effective Major League pitcher and they all have a considerable amount of doubts. It's a lot of money for a guy with this many question marks, IMO.
Teletopez
Eric Hinske signed with the Braves. Buster Olney is saying that the only way Damon will end up re-signing is if he greatly reduces his asking price and Hal Steinbrenner adds to the team's budget. Damon's running out of options. San Francisco has signed Huff and DeRosa, and Atlanta doesn't know if they want to pursue Damon. We should still look at Reed Johnson and Xavier Nady. bigdog17k
White Sox could use a guy like Damon, we need any other outfielder at this point. -_-

Phightins
Arbitration figures have been exchanged and teams/players are currently working out deals in an attempt to avoid arbitration hearings. A bunch of deals were worked out today. The big one we are all waiting for of course is Tim Lincecum. It will probably be record shattering. Teletopez
The Yankees avoided arbitration and agreed to 1-year deals with Gaudin and Logan. Boston has reportedly agreed to a 1-year $9.35M deal with Papelbon.
