Built Ford Tough
I found this on Real GM and it is both amazing and disturbing at the same time. Here are the best offences and worst defences since the advent of the 3-pt shot in the 1979-1980 season: Best Offences2009-2010 Toronto Raptors: 118.11986-1987 Los Angeles Lakers: 115.61991-1992 Chicago Bulls: 115.51987-1988 Boston Celtics: 115.41995-1996 Chicago Bulls: 115.21994-1995 Orlando Magic: 115.11990-1991 Chicago Bulls: 114.62004-2005 Phoenix Suns: 114.51996-1997 Chicago Bulls: 114.41981-1982 Denver Nuggets: 114.31984-1985 Los Angeles Lakers: 114.11989-1990 Los Angeles Lakers: 114.02008-2009 Portland Trail Blazers: 113.92006-2007 Phoenix Suns: 113.91988-1989 Los Angeles Lakers: 113.82007-2008 Utah Jazz: 113.81985-1986 Los Angeles Lakers: 113.31992-1991 Phoenix Suns: 113.31997-1998 Utah Jazz: 112.72001-2002 Dallas Mavericks: 112.22003-2004 Dallas Mavericks: 112.12005-2006 Dallas Mavericks: 111.81993-1994 Phoenix Suns: 111.71983-1984 Detroit Pistons: 111.52002-2003 Dallas Mavericks: 110.71982-1983 Los Angeles Lakers: 110.51979-1980 Los Angeles Lakers: 109.51980-1981 Denver Nuggets: 109.42000-2001 Milwaukee Bucks: 108.81998-1999 Indiana Pacers: 108.71999-2000 Indiana Pacers: 108.5 Raptors just obliterating every possible dynasty team on the offensive, from the Showtime Lakers to Michael's Bulls. Worst Defences2009-2010 Toronto Raptors: 120.31990-1991 Denver Nuggets: 114.71992-1991 Dallas Mavericks: 114.72008-2009 Sacramento Kings: 114.72005-2006 Seattle Supersonics: 114.41989-1990 Orlando Magic: 114.31981-1982 Denver Nuggets: 113.91995-1996 Philadelphia 76ers: 113.01984-1985 Golden State Warriors: 113.01994-1995 Detroit Pistons: 112.91987-1988 Golden State Warriors: 112.92007-2008 Milwaukee Bucks: 112.81991-1992 Minnesota Timberwolves: 112.41985-1986 Chicago Bulls: 112.41983-1984 San Diego Clippers: 112.41996-1997 San Antonio Spurs: 112.32006-2007 Memphis Grizzlies: 112.31986-1987 Los Angeles Clippers: 112.31993-1994 Washington Bullets: 112.21997-1998 Denver Nuggets: 112.11988-1989 Charlotte Hornets: 112.12004-2005 Los Angeles Lakers: 111.41980-1981 Dallas Mavericks: 110.82003-2004 Orlando Magic: 110.41979-1980 Utah Jazz: 110.41998-1999 Denver Nuggets: 110.41999-2000 Los Angeles Clippers: 110.11982-1983 Dallas Mavericks: 109.82002-2003 Golden State Warriors: 109.52001-2002 Houston Rockets: 108.62000-2001 Washington Wizards: 107.8 Now, this is not funny, almost 6 points worse than the worst ever defence. Do you think that the Raptors will be able to keep up this kind of pace and be the best offensive team and worst defensive team simultaneously since the inception of the 3 point shot? BasX
That's a lot of pizza. I think they'll be in the top 10 of both, but top of neither.
Check my Stats
You can't expect to have a great defense when you are taking as many shots as we do, at least in terms of OPPG. But at the same time our defense has been absolutely pathetic, we are only in games because while we can't get any stops we are making it hard for other teams to get stops. We have a ton of offensive weapons, if our defense can just be average without affecting our offense too much then we should be ok. But frankly I don't see us getting out of the bottom 5 in terms of defense unless we were to do a complete 180.
Owner Real Deal Posted November 12, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 12, 2009 Well, they play at a fast pace, which explains the offensive and defensive spike. The more you score, the more teams will score, most of the time. But, 40 games in, take a look at where they are at. I'm sure they will slow down, which will drop their offensive production, which in turn will drop their allowed PPG.
