Jammin
The New Orleans Hornets have responded to their 3-6 start by making the first coaching change of the young NBA season, firing Byron Scott on Thursday, according to NBA coaching sources. Sources said the Hornets made the decision to dismiss Scott following New Orleans' 124-104 loss in Phoenix on Wednesday night and will formally announce the move later Thursday. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4648162
Owner Real Deal Posted November 12, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 12, 2009 Ah, good...now they'll pick up some no-name, inexperienced coach and win 30 games. But I wonder if Mark Jackson jumps on this. Inexperienced...but I think he'd be good for them. Wasn't Scott's fault, though.
Amare320
Same thing with New Jersey a few years ago happend. It's the teams fault not the coaches, Byron Scott is a good coach.
Dr. Feelgood
It's ALL Scott's fault, not the players inability to hang onto a lead or close games, it was all Scott.
deestillballin
SMDH so it begins. Last year it was about 9 I believe within the first 3 months. I wonder how this season will fare out.
Cobb
Not a real surprise. It was going to come eventually. I wonder who takes his spot.
Art
Same thing with New Jersey a few years ago happend. It's the teams fault not the coaches, Byron Scott is a good coach. No Scott's problem was that he was trying to play a half court game with a team that is best suited to run. NOH's new coach will be the general manager Jeff Bower btw. Scott will be replaced by general manager Jeff Bower, with Tim Floyd as his top assistant, the team said. Floyd formerly coached the Hornets and the Chicago Bulls in the NBA and most recently at USC. Team owner George Shinn thanked Scott for his service, but said Bower "knows this team better than anyone" and gives the Hornets "our best opportunity to reach our goals this season." papertrail
I woulda let him finish the season out first. IMO they shouldn't have traded Chandler for Okafor.. He fit in better with the offense and Okafor and West don't really compliment each other at all. They had a good team to build around, but butchered it with that move. Maybe a new coach will do them some good though.. Just let CP3 run the floor and see what he can do with a faster pace.
CaliCurbStomppa
Way too EARLY to fire somebody.. I understand they aren't winning but you gotta be patient and hope your team can play better.
La Bomba
Lionell Hollins is on the hot seat as well (or should be). The Grizzlies should really consider going after Scott. He's a good coach. Firing him was a poor decision IMO.

xx.
Not going to lie, every single time I watched the Hornets this season so far, they looked very poor out there. Who knows maybe it was CP3's call, like it was with Jason Kidd.
Universe
Scott is a lazy coach and every Nets fan saw this a mile away.
