Check my Stats
Why are they rushing him back? They don't need him right now, they could wait 10 more games if they wanted to, there is no reason for him to come back if he isn't at 100%. If he is limited then there is no point because he could just re-aggravate something and it could last all year, they have so much talent they can get by without him for a bit longer. They aren't rushing him back. He was to play like 4 days ago. Hope you don't believe what Phil said about Christmas, he was joking. He's close to ready. Lemon
Kobe out of the post and back as a shooter threat. Don't get me wrong. He's good there and I'm sure he'll go there from time to time, but recently he's been abusing the spot and in all honesty he hasn't has as much experience in the area as a big. Once he gets doubled at the post by a good defensive team he's very vulnerable. Also, as a team we're missing his outside presence. We're still the best offensive team in the paint when Gasol comes in, but we've been missing Kobe's play making abilities from the outside. Sky
What they are missing most, an intelligent decision maker. No Pau + Kobe vortex + no 1 = idiots on parade. They are playing stupid basketball. This is the price you pay for having no point guard Phil.
kingfish
Gasol could play, were just being too cautious. 1 good thing is Kobe gets the help that he NEEDS.
Erick Blasco
More focus on Gasol the basketball player, and less focus on Gasol the CSI: Miami actor.

Owner Real Deal Posted November 17, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 17, 2009 Just to list something nobody else has yet...rebounding, since we were killed on the glass by the Rockets, who are one of the smaller teams in the league. Also, Gasol helps spread the floor by being a willing passer, which will assist our guys in their shooting percentages. Check them out so far... Artest - .427Odom - .433Fisher - .333Farmar - .333Walton - .424Mbenga - .407Vujacic - .360Morrison - .429 How are we 7-3?

The Team's overall FG percentage is 9th in the league, and their effective field goal percentage against is 3rd best, meaning their defense has been outstanding. Plus, they've hardly played any road games.
Owner Real Deal Posted November 17, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 17, 2009 Their FG% is so good as a team because Kobe is shooting nearly 50%, and Bynum is at 60%. That's most of the team's shots, really. Josh Powell is at 55+ (can't give you the exact number), and Shannon Brown is around that number, also...but most of their shots are coming from a very efficient Bynum and Kobe. eFG% against is just another one of those weird stats I hate using. Boston is 9th in the league in allowed FG%, Cleveland at 12th, Houston is 17th, Magic at 18th. On the other hand, Detroit and Dallas are 4th and 5th, respectively. Just doesn't make much sense. Most of that is from one or two very good defensive players. Kobe and Artest are defending very well (and Shannon Brown), but everyone else on the Lakers has no idea what defense means. I'm sure +/- and eFG% allowed won't tell you the same for individual players (because +/- stats for Battier have shrugged him off as a good defender so many times already), but that's what happens looking at the stats. If we keep this up, though, we won't grab that top seed in the West, and none of this matters anymore. We need Gasol back as soon as possible. Owner Real Deal Posted November 18, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 18, 2009 How about getting back our 2nd best player, and a top 5 PF in the game? How about making decent posts, instead of "LOL" and the multiple one-word posts that you were making earlier, before you were banned? I think that would be good enough to get your account back, instead of re-registering.

Houston hasn't been a great defensive team this season at all, and neither really has Orlando. Boston really hasn't shut down the three point line very well this year. Phoenix, New Orleans, New Jersey, and Indiana all lit them up. Basically, it's why their defense didn't play all that well in those games. If you see a team with good defensive FG stats, but bad eFG%, that team isn't defending the three-point line. And since threes are worth more than twos, eFG% is a better indicator of defense because it takes into account the added value of the three-pointer.
