headliner
If LeBron James truly believes he can help the Cleveland Browns, coach Eric Mangini has an orange helmet waiting for him. "I think he should come on down," Mangini said. The Cavaliers superstar and reigning MVP was an All-State wide receiver in high school. "If I put all my time and commitment into it, if I dedicated myself to the game of football, I could be really good," he said Tuesday night, "no matter what team I was on." Mangini agreed, calling James "a freak athletically" and said the 6-foot-8, 260-pounder could be dangerous at tight end, wide receiver or even outside linebacker. Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers said it would be difficult for any athlete, even one as great as James, to step into the NFL and be able to handle the punishment. ESPN How many of you think James could play in the NFL?
Poe
I think most of the top athletes in the NBA could have became NFL stars if they had chosen to. Wade, Kobe, Iverson... I could see them playing football.

I could see them playing football. Some of them would be too small to play. like Wade and Kobe would be best fitted as WR but idk if they can really take the beating when they get hit
JWaLL
I think he could handle playing as a wide receiver. Outside linebacker? Probably not.
Cobb
Yeah, he could do it. I mean he looks like a football player when look at him he's so big and strong.
Dr. Feelgood
Yes, let's see LeBron go to the NFL and fail doing that just like that one guy did when he went to play baseball and ditched basketball and sucked at that...I think LeBron and the other guy wore the same jersey number too...only the other guy played in Chicago. No really though, I'm not sure how he would do. I don't watch enough football to know if he could or not.

John
He is certainly capable of playing in the NFL. Though I think he'll stay put in the NBA.
Owner Real Deal Posted November 18, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 18, 2009 I'm sure Cleveland would give LeBron a shot. Look at their team. They would probably give me a legitimate shot at playing QB for them. Would LeBron succeed? Probably not...not as a top receiver in the league (OL is out of the question). But he'd be able to handle the "punishment" as he's a top athlete in professional sports, and it's not like there are no pads or helmets involved.
