Nets' Losing Streak

Wow, this is crazy.

Anyone know what the longest losing streak to start off a season is? If the Nets haven't already made that record, then they should be close to challenging it. Think they'll finally pull off a win against New York this Saturday?

So what exactly caused such a poor start? Coaching? Lack of talent or experience? Injuries? A mixture of all three, perhaps? Or maybe the Nets actually trying to lose for a high draft pick?

Discuss.

It's kind of hard to get wins when a lot of your starters are constantly hurt. Take the three from the starting five of any team and they'll be playing like crap.

Though the Nets are getting the chance to develop their youngs a little, would be nice to develop them with some of their starters, hah.

It's a mix of injuries and lack of experience.

You can see a significant difference in any team when they don't have two of their starters. We don't have four of our starters, along with a key backup PG. And when you're a young team, you can lose confidence easily and have trouble succeeding under pressure.

I've come across two articles involving the possible firing of Frank. Here's one of them.

Lawrence Frank (Nets). Odds: 1/2

Reason to stay: Sometimes you can't make lemonade out of lemons. He's had so many injuries and illnesses ... to Devin Harris, Yi Jianlian, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Courtney Lee. Harris blossomed right away under Frank, Brook Lopez keeps growing and CD-R is improving. They play hard for him.

Reason to go: No matter how honest the effort, how hard of worker he is, there has to be a time when wins must mean something. When do the sheer numbers catch up? Is it 0-15, 1-20, 2-30? And if they want to dream of being in the LeBron James sweepstakes, will they need a bigger name to attract him?

How many times have we seen a coach getting fired in the middle of the season, and the new coach sends the team uphill for the rest of the season? If wins mean something, we should probably keep Frank rather than risk having to wait for the new coach to adjust.

I'm pretty sure I already read Thorn saying he's sticking with Frank for some time. And it makes sense. What good is looking at videos of previous games when a good amount of the players from those games are gone? It's a matter of luck with his decisions. He's trying a lot of things for the first time with limited guys, and he can't tell whether it's a success or not until after a couple of games. And hey, we've had some great defensive games, and Lopez has been able to put up better numbers now that he's stayed out of foul trouble. There's not much blame you can put on Frank.
