Teletopez
Some interesting scenes in the locker room after the game. One was Chris Douglas-Roberts needing a Nets’ employee to make his tie for him before he did his post-game interview. If you’re going to score 31, you have to make your own tie. The second was injured guard Keyon Dooling coming over to sit in the locker right next to the outspoken Douglas-Roberts, giving him some advice and making sure he didn’t say anything crazy after the loss. Dooling is a good leader. He’s trying to keep everyone together during this tough time. Douglas-Roberts was heated during the game and had an exchange with assistant Doug Overton. After Overton tried to give Douglas-Roberts direction in the third, he shouted back, “We’re losing, man!” Douglas-Roberts calmed down after the game and chose his words very carefully. The guys hates losing. That much is clear. Link This is the second time CDR was frustrated with Overton, the first being in a practice last year. It's also the second time we've seen CDR showing his winning attitude. He called out his teammates after a game a couple weeks ago in an interview. Teletopez
From CDR's Twitter not too long ago: I want to clear a couple things up. I'm a professional. NOBODY has had to coach me on what NOT to say to the media after these losses.. I'm very media savvy. Therefore, I'll NEVER let my emotions get the best of me in any situation. Especially with the media. Am I taking the losing badly, yes! As I should! However, I'm not pointing any fingers. I still believe in myself, teammates & COACH. I feel I deal with losing differently. A lot of guys say they "hate to lose", but I can't describe the feeling I have when I lose... So yea, I'm going to say things in a different tone of voice...I'm going to be mad & play with emotion & passion. Not COMPLAIN! Basketball is my LIFE, not my JOB! So I'm not going to half [expletive] it. Nor will I change. I don't care what anybody says. It's a good quality.. Also, me & Doug Overton DID NOT "get into it". That's my guy. Enough said. No need to get in detail about that. All those tweets within 15 minutes. Link
Teletopez
Add more to that... I've been away b/c I've been trying to figure out a solution for US so we can turn things around. Twitter was the last thing on my mind. Errybody wants me to look @ my #'s & ppg. Yea, unlike MOST OF YALL, I expected to play like this. So this means nothing to me! I said I was going to be good the day Vince got traded & y'all thought I was crazy. Yup, crazy enough to believe in my vision. I was saying that bandwagon shii back in early June. "Switch-siders". Remember that? Now look @ you. That's why #s don't mean shii to me. Y'all didn't even have me in the convo. Ha! Dumb. Anyway, I'm sayin this to say, don't believe the hype. Or everything you read. And I'm taking up for my teammates & Coach. We're all in this TOGETHER. Don't try & put this on one person. It's not fair. Respectt.
Teletopez
Had a great talk with the OG @jalenrose las night. Basically told me this will make me stronger & not to get caught up in all the media BS. But all the great advice still can't change how I feel about losing. Or how I feel period. One of my favorite tattoos says "worst first greater later" & that's what I've been living by. "Greater" will come soon.
damien
I'd be frustrated as well if my team was 0-15, but he showed that he's sorta chilled in Wali's last post.
