moeroadkill
leagues fault for not having replays. thus, no replays. no rematchs.
Sun Tzu
Haha, easily a handball but I think it's too late to take it back.
andreusito
Nothing. A lot of things have happened a lot of times and there has never been done anything. It's just the coincidence that this was an important match.
Guest N4S
I feel so bad for Ireland. There really may be a reply of the game though.
Cobb
I think it would be really weird to have the game played over. I'm just curious as to how the referee missed the call.
Universe
I don't get how people call it dirty and cheating because aren't referee's the one who are calling these plays?
Guest N4S
True but Thierry said he intentionally handballed it. That's bad. But in all it does fall in the refs hands and even more the FIFA for not having sideline replay on these matters.
s.t.a.t.
I seen this was all over the place yesterday. I hate how everybody keeps calling it cheating. If was just a violation that was not called. It seemed to me that it was his natural reaction to hit the ball with his hand, I mean its not like he had it all planned out or something like most people are making it out to be. La Bomba
You can't replay it. People get cheated out of games all the time. Henry should see a heavy suspension though.

For what exactly? Suspend him for a hand ball? That is laughable. Unless something happened that I am unaware of, as I didn't watch the game, there is absolutely no reason why Henry should be suspended. EastCoastNiner
Ireland never should have had a chance to continue anyways because of the terrible call when they played Georgia. Also, suspending somebody for a hand-ball is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, yet people keep talking about it. So, if there are 2:15 seconds left in the Super Bowl, and the defense has no challenges, and the QB steps a yard past the line of scrimmage and throws a game winning TD, should he be suspended? It was a handball he did on purpose that gave France the victory. The Fifa has been talking about giving suspensions to cheaters who flop to get penalties and use their hands on purpose. Well, then how are teams going to fill their rosters if half of their team is getting suspended each game for flopping?
La Bomba
Well, then how are teams going to fill their rosters if half of their team is getting suspended each game for flopping? That's the typical statement from someone who is constantly putting soccer down. They're talking about guys like Eduardo who fell down in the area without given getting touched (pretty sure he got suspended) or guys like Messi or Ronaldo who flop every time they touch the ball. The floping thing is only for penalties and such. Edited November 21, 2009 by Poohdini

Almost every soccer game I have ever watched, there is constant flopping and faking of injuries.

If the Fifa doesn't do something about it, players will continue to do it.
Built Ford Tough
I have absolutely no problem with them suspending players for flopping and things like that, but suspending a player for a hand ball if just completely over the top and ridiculous. How can anybody justify suspending players of a hand ball, whether it was intentional or not? This is like suspending an NHL player for intentionally icing the pick or not following the rules of a delayed offside (staying in the zone and chasing the puck rather than exiting the attacking zone first). Hand balls are a part of the game and suspending players for intentional hand balls is just stupid. There is no reason that Henry should be suspended because of the ref's incompetence, whether it was an intentional hand ball or not. Just my 2 cents at least. ChosenOne
Lets get one thing straight here, It is cheating if you get caught DURING the game if you dont get caught then it was a good smart play. Please, it's gamesmanship, you can't blame him for something the ref didn't call.
