Legacy
what other players on the Lakers do they need to be successful? Basically, who is the third MVP of the team? Odom, Arest, Bynum, or someone else?
kingfish
Id say Artest but for defensive purposes. He really needs to shut down or contain the elite SF's or SG's in the league when we play against them, offensively his role is pretty simple. Bynum has been a consistent scoring option for us, we can throw it into the post to him every time and hes shown great low post moves so far. I think Bynum may command a double team, especially against smaller defenders, and not too many are long and tall enough to guard Bynum. That is pretty scary considering Kobe commands a double team, and Pau in the post definitely must be doubled.
Check my Stats
If Artest can alleviate the pressure off Kobe and guard the opposing teams best wing every game then it is him. Allowing Kobe to guard the weaker of the two wings will allow him to focus more energy on offense. If Lebron is guarded by Ron then that allows Kobe to save a considerable amount of energy. Come playoff time I think Artest's impact will be felt more when Kobe is able to expend all his energy on the offensive end. Also having Artest on the Lakers takes one of very few players in the league who can do a decent job on Kobe.
Owner Real Deal Posted November 25, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 25, 2009 Technically, it's Bynum, since Gasol just came back. We would've been in big trouble without both of our big men.
The Regime
Andrew Bynum on both sides of the ball.

ChosenOne
I say Odom because when he plays well off the bench that is just about a back breaker for any team. Normally when the starters go out it is a chance for the opposing team to make a run if behind, but if Odom comes off the bench fresh and ready to attack the basket you really have nothing that can counter it.
