OAKLAND, Calif.-The Warriors say coach Don Nelson hasn't fully recovered from pneumonia and won't travel with the team on its five-game road trip that begins Monday in Oklahoma City.

Nelson recently missed five games after his Nov. 23 diagnosis but returned to the bench Thursday night for a home game against the Houston Rockets. A Warriors statement on Friday said team doctors recommended that Nelson stay in the San Francisco Bay area next week to regain strength and stamina.

Golden State says Nelson still plans to coach the team Saturday when the Warriors host the Orlando Magic.

Top assistant Keith Smart coached five games in Nelson's absence and will lead the Warriors (6-12) during the road trip. The 69-year-old Nelson is expected to rejoin the club when they return to Oakland on Dec. 16.

Hope he recovers 100% very very soon..

He really needs to retire and move to Hawaii. He loves it there and he has more than enough money to live happily. I doubt he leaves until he passes the all-time wins record though.

So I assume you like Keith Smart?
