Cobb
I figured we needed one or at least I needed one since I'm having so many random problems with my computer. My latest problem is that my computer won't completely shut down. Instead of turning off it will go to a blank screen with just my background. So from there I just have to hold the power button until it shuts off. Anyone know how to fix this problem? I've also done some searches on this but none of the things that popped up have worked. Lkr
Age of a computer isn't going to matter when its an OS problem. my current computer is 4 years old and I don't have these problems. fly3rs18
age doesnt matter, but usually older computers are slower and will have more of these kinds of problems over time if you dont know what you are doing

Lkr
my new X3 720 BE shows up as AM2+ in CPU-Z, when its an AM3 cpu. Does anyone know if this is a bug, or if I have a defective chip?
Cobb
Now for some reason after a minute or two of me turning my computer on it begins to make this noise. Not exactly sure how to describe it but it's coming from the top left of my computer.
fly3rs18
dunno what else could make noise besides a fan or hard drive
Cobb
It's weird because it stopped now. I have no idea. It was working fine when I was at my mom's house and then I drove to my dad's and it started making that noise. Hopefully whatever it was is fine now. Lkr
is your dad's house hotter or more humid?
mav4life
CobbFC09 I had that problem a while back, and I tried looking for a solution for countless hours. I gave up and just freshly installed the OS again. I think it might have to do with somekind of update that wasnt installed correctly. So if you have a lot of problems with it, might as well back up your files and do a clean install of your OS.

I'm not even sure how it occurred in the first place.
mav4life
For me I'm pretty sure it happened from turning off the computer while it was finishing installing an update.
Cobb
Ok, so this is really weird. Me and my step brother both are connected to the internet at our house but for some reason his is fast and mine isn't. Yeah, it sounds stupid but I have no idea what is wrong. I can hardly load Google while he can surf the web fine. Anyone know what's wrong??
