damien Posted December 6, 2009 Report Share Posted December 6, 2009 COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State star Evan Turner will miss eight weeks after breaking bones in his back when he fell while dunking during Saturday's game against Eastern Michigan. Initial X-rays indicated no serious injuries, but Buckeyes athletic trainer Vince O'Brien said later tests found transverse process fractures of the second and third lumbar vertebra of Turner's spine. "My primary concern right now is Evan's long-term health and well-being," Ohio State coach Thad Matta said. "Evan was to this point in the season the best player in college basketball. Cleveland's Finest Posted December 6, 2009 Report Share Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) As mad as I was to hear this, I was impressed that OSU still had a 60 plus point blow out without Turner. This definitely makes everything that much more tough heading into conference play. I think Buford or Diebler can emerge as the go-to guy while Turner's out. At least Turner will be back. Looks like P.J. Hill will be starting a PG, and he's got hustle so it should be interesting.
