Built Ford Tough
Former World Wrestling Entertainment superstar and unbeaten heavyweight mixed martial arts prospect Bobby Lashley has agreed to a multi-year contract with Strikeforce, the promotion announced on Thursday. Lashley, 33, will debut on Jan. 30 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla. No opponent was named. “I’m looking forward to fighting for Strikeforce and challenging myself by taking on some of the top heavyweights in MMA,” Lashley said in a release. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Strikeforce-Lands-Lashley-Jan-30-Debut-Booked-21466 I still think that he needs one or two more fights against some lesser talent to work out some things in his game before he steps into the cage with fighters like Fabricio Werdum, Brett Rogers and Antonio Silva let alone Fedor Emeilanenko, but it is good to see him signing with a name promotion. This will definitely help Strikeforce pull some more fans considering the following that he has from his days with the WWE. He is an interesting prospect as well, and he is taking MMA very seriously, which is good to see. I'm looking forward to seeing him make his Strikeforce debut on January 30th. I hope that Strikeforce doesn't rush him and throw him to the wolves right away as he still needs some developing.
Owner Real Deal Posted December 11, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted December 11, 2009 Dude looks like a monster. I wonder what a match between him and Lesnar would be like, assuming Brock returns to the octagon someday.
