2005-2006

The reason for this is simple just look at their rookie seasons

Chris Paul 78 games started -611 assist

Deron Williams 47 games started-359 assist

The difference in their rookie seasons is 252 assist

This comes because D-Will was playing under D-Fisher at the time

If you take away their rookie seasons you'd get

Chris Paul- 2,501

Deron Williams-2,545

Yes if you take away Deron's rookie season where he didn't start how like half the season he has more career assist then Chris Paul.

The funny thing about it is that this Cp3 ankle injury would have been a great time for D-Will to catch up, but D-Will had the exact same injury last season and missed about the same amount of games.
