The Artesticle
http://trianglehighschoolfootball.com/enter/images/stories/brian%20westbrook.jpg Reported on ESPN. -_- ugh, he will be missed, but I respect his decision 100% and will never forget what he gave us. Phightins
Not that I doubt you or your sources, but.... If this were true, it absolutely would be all over the local news around here, and there is nothing about it anywhere.
The Artesticle
It was reported by John Clayton on Mike and Mike. But yeah, I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about this, hopefully he can still give it another go. I wanna see a trio of Westbrook/Weaver/McCoy. That would be deadly. Phightins
I think he should retire. But like I was saying, our local guys would be all over this if he actually announced he's retiring. We'll see what happens.
Owner Real Deal Posted December 22, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted December 22, 2009 I saw it scroll at the bottom of the screen on ESPNEWS, as I flipped through the channels.

bigdog17k
I'd say it's about the right time, I will miss him though.
The Regime
McCoy is almost a carbon copy of Westbrook so he shouldnt be that hard to replace. I will miss Westbrook though, he has has a good run.
ChosenOne
Westbrook has had a great career and will be leaving on his own two feet, Philly fans cant ask for nothing more. He has a great back up so they will be fine as a team. The NFL needs to find a way to make better Helmets.
fly3rs18
i dont believe this until someone has an actual source. if westbrook actually said that then it would be all over local news here and would at least be on espn.com. but it is no where to be seen
Phightins
Yeah. If John Clayton actually said this, he was misinformed by somebody. I have been watching our local sports channel pretty much all afternoon, including segments with guys who are in the Eagles training complex every day. Nobody said anything, and this would be one of the biggest stories of the year if true. With that said, I would not be shocked if he does retire, he just hasn't decided yet. reno
Westbrook should just retire, he had a decent career. To bad Mcnab couldn't get him a sb ring.
Knickmatic
He's my favorite player too, and Phightins is right, this would be all over espn, yahoo, or any other sport site.I hope he retires as an Eagle, but not this soon
BasX
Ya PFT has said nothing and they usually get stuff pretty quickly

Warren2ThaG
It's probably the best thing for him if it's true. Health should come first.
Flash
I agree with the decision. Clinton Portis may do the same as well. I think each player should wear those revolution helmets they made a few years back. They're meant to decrease the concussions but most guys don't wear them. EastCoastNiner
I wouldn't doubt that he will retire after this season, but I haven't hear anything about it, and out of every city, Philadelphia is one that would definitely be reporting this everywhere, and apparently they haven't.
