Honestly, Matt's the funniest person on the site by far. People here just don't know how to take jokes.

I would disagree with that... it's not funny when that is ALL he does. I can take a joke pretty damn well, but this is just flat out obnoxious and distracting. It ruins the integrity of the site.

You don't have to agree but most of the 'funny' stuff that other people post on this board is either funny to 1 person or stupid. He has original humor, and if it happens to make fun of someone, so be it. The fact that people get so upset #2 on my list of funniest things on OTR, sry.

I don't find it funny, and a lot of people would agree with me. This is a site for basketball discussion, but when you are trolling threads and attempting to make fun of someone, how does that contribute positively to the integrity of the site? As an ex-mod, you should know better.

I don't know who you were on the old forum, but if you 'knew me' as a mod, I was probably the most loose one here, I rarely did anything unless it was really severe or spam. Many people now-a-days don't have a modern sense of humor to be honest. People are just too uptight for a online forum, like who cares if someone you don't know offends you? There's an option to ignore a members posts so use it. If everyone who didn't like Matt's posts ignored him than everyone here wouldn't be so upset. Just gotta remember that this isn't real life, and if someone you knew saw how upset you were getting at someone on a message board you'd be laughed at [not you, in general].

He's just messing around, you will never find a site that has 100% serious members on it, and if you do the forum would be boring. If everyone was posting stuff that didn't relate to the topic then I'd understand where you're coming from, but people aren't going to come here see 1 post that's obviously a joke post and leave. MOST people don't care, but there are a bunch here who do.

 

BB.com has 2.5 million members, and every other post is someone joking around and it's still one of the most active forums on the internet.

He's just messing around, you will never find a site that has 100% serious members on it, and if you do the forum would be boring. If everyone was posting stuff that didn't relate to the topic then I'd understand where you're coming from, but people aren't going to come here see 1 post that's obviously a joke post and leave. MOST people don't care, but there are a bunch here who do.

I agree, a 100% serious board would be boring, but the closer to that the better. Right now it seems split 50-50 right down the middle between serious discussions and bull[expletive] posting. I don't care if he doesn't mean anything by it, it needs to stop. It's annoying, distracting, and makes us look bad. Really all he is doing is embarrassing himself. He's making a fool of himself and I don't see him lasting here much longer.

The thing is that this is Brandon's forum and he doesn't want every post to be a joke or insult towards a member. It looks bad for the guests and new people that join the site. Well it's up to what Brandon wants. Sounds to me like he'd prefer a quality discussion board as opposed to a bunch of people trying to insult each other.

It doesn't matter what you think. The owner is in control, and if I recall, he has made several announcements that he wants this board to clean up its act and start maturing. People like xx are the obvious reasons for the creation of those announcements.

but what you did is exactly how a middle school kid would act. that is exactly like getting into a fight with a friend and making a facebook status relating to him, except on a basketball forum, even worse. thats not being ignorant thats just simply stating ones opinion and its not just him probably the majority of america and betting websites are saying the heat are the best team in the league. you were mad because he didnt agree with your side of the argument and your opinions so you instantly got angry at him for not listening to you. some people are like not, you gotta learn how to judge with people. you probably havent even read this far into my post so ill stop now.
