MainEv3nt
The Redskins have fired coach Jim Zorn. Washington officially announced the decision, which was long expected, on Monday morning. Zorn was 12-20 in two seasons with the Redskins. "The status quo is not acceptable," Bruce Allen, Washington's new executive vice president and general manager, said in a statement. "I felt it was necessary to not waste a moment of time to begin building this team into a winner." http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/15272/20100104/zorn_done_in_washington/ Washington Examiner - CBS insider Charley Casserly, formerly the general manager of the Redskins, reports that Mike Shanahan is headed to Washington and has begun putting together his coaching staff. The offense will reportedly be run by Kyle Shanahan, the son of the former Broncos head coach. http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/15275/20100104/report_shanahan_picking_redskins_staff/
Smitty
Zorn getting fired was inevitable. It's a step in the right direction with Shanahan.
