Houston's agreement with free-agent forward Trevor Ariza appears to have pushed Wafer out of town. Agent Mitchell Butler said he was "floored" that the Rockets pursued Ariza. "None of it made any sense to me," Butler said. "We had a good conversation with them prior to free agency. I expected they would look at a center and then come back and look in-house." Butler added that a number of teams have shown interest in Wafer, but refused to reveal any teams. "They had a great young player in Von Wafer they could have nurtured," Butler said of the Rockets. "His ceiling is to be determined.
