NomarFachix
On June 21st, Francisco Cervelli was batting .373 with 29 RBI. On August 15th, he is batting .248 with 32 RBI. Yikes. Jesus Montero is ready, Joe. Give him the call up.
Teletopez
I think Cervelli saw your wishes for him to be DFA'd, Kyle. 4-4 with a runner thrown out.
Teletopez
A 4-man rotation is being used for the ALCS, a different route than what Girardi set up last year. Sabathia-Pettitte-Hughes-Burnett.
Flash
Its a risk throwing Burnett but we'll see if it pays off. I personally like the 3 man rotation more.
Phightins
Sabathia can obviously go on short rest, but Pettitte probably can't anymore, and who knows with Hughes. I'd assume that's why this is happening.

I'd assume that's why this is happening. Probably. I highly doubt we sweep whoever we play so I understand why Girardi would make this move. Burnett just isn't nearly as solid as he was last year though so that's why I'm skeptical about it.

NomarFachix
Didn't they take an off-day out of the ALCS this year? 5-6-7 would all be starts on 3 days rest in a 3 man rotation.

Flash
Well Lee won't be throwing until game 3 so that's huge for us. I won't feel comfortable in this series unless we take those first 2 games in Arlington and head home to face Lee with a 2-0 lead. NomarFachix
C.C.HughesPettitteBurnettC.C.HughesPettitte Really hope we don't end up down 3-2 at their place saving Pettitte for game 7... My guess is they'd flip-flop the two.
Teletopez
R.I.P. Freddy 'Sez' Schuman. He was an iconic figure in the Yankees organization, and in the eyes of many, he was the most dedicated supporter in the fanbase.

NomarFachix
My long post is gone, so I'll make it short: Dave Eiland was sleeping with A.J. Burnett's wife. Edited October 28, 2010 by The Reason
Flash
What's the latest on the Derek Jeter contract situation? Do you think that'll get settled quickly after the WS?
Teletopez
What's the latest on the Derek Jeter contract situation? Do you think that'll get settled quickly after the WS?Cashman sounded pretty confident about bringing him back. I wouldn't expect talks to take too long if they do re-sign him. We should be hearing news soon.
NomarFachix
IMO anything more than 3/45 is a crippling contract for us.
Flash
IMO anything more than 3/45 is a crippling contract for us. The highest amount of years we should offer is 4 IMO. Any more than that is definitely too much.
NomarFachix
Year three he's going to be the softest hitting DH in the history of the MLB, year 4 would be even worse.
Teletopez
So after we thought that Joba would be a favorite for a spot in the rotation, Cashman says that the decision was made back in spring training to keep him as a reliever. Teletopez
http://www.sporcle.com/games/TheLegendaryBro/2010NYY I had three names to go with 2:00 left and couldn't think of them. Turned out to be Thin White CC, Golson, and Albaladejo.
NomarFachix
So what now? Throw money at high upside guys coming off injury, like Brandon Webb/CMW/Justin Duscherer? Try and trade for an easily attainable arm, like a Derek Lowe? Hope that fat boy Joba can condition himself to be a starter? One given is that Cashman will be groveling at Pettitte's feet to return. IDK. Just don't want to see them trade Montero for a pitcher in a scramble move.
NomarFachix
I wouldn't be so quick to say that. I'm disappointed, but let's not forget about guys like Farnsworth and Vizcaino who eventually found their way and became key eighth-inning men. Your boy Vizcaino is back in town, lol. Minor league contract.
